Latest TV - New Brief

Last monday we got set a new brief by a company called Latest TV.  They are a new t.v channel airing in July locally to Brighton.  We have all been set either deliver an ident package or a programme package, including title sequence, for Latest TV.  This can be any combination of moving image, animation and motion graphics.  We have each been allocated individual packages to focus on and mine is idents.  (short clips between TV programs narrated by 'Next is' etc.  We need to stay close communication with the client as this is vital for showing ideas and making sure we design constantly along their preference.

Latest TV is going to become local to Brighton as a local TV channel only being shown on FreeView.  The last 2 years the programs have only been shown online. 

The criteria for my brief is as follows;

Channel Idents/Stings:Duration 1­10 seconds

still or with movement to use as break bumpers and between    

Stand out stuff that say who they are
Brand the channel

I assume I am creating several different idents for Latest TV.  I'm pretty sure they want them to be all the same theme so I will focus on this now.  Just need to send an E-mail to ask a few questions about the idents.

Artwork Drawings

I have used the typefaces I have explored and drawn up some mock designs.

In the design above I have used the font Xiomara.  The illustrations around It I have gained inspiration from my mood board and from the elegant prints from the Oasis website.  I wanted to create a border like design sitting tight to the type.  The reason for this is that It reminds me as a framed picture with detail.  I created my own flowers such as the smaller ones on the vines that twist and turn to create a natural feel.  I drew all these free hand and added 4 roses in. One large one on the bottom left 2 in the right corner and one above 'Deliverytime'.  I think this is a successful mock up because it is an approachable design, people can clearly read what It says and I have incorporated a design border too.  I think this can bring out a different side to Oasis.

Here is a close up of a part of the design.  I have small dots around certain places which remind me of fantasy and being enchanted.

This is a mock up of a second design using Clair De Lune as a font.  These are only ideas and are not a final design.  On this design you can see that the 'any style' part is a bit cramped into the side where I have run out of room but this would be more central.  I liked the way I have used this font I think it adapts to my garden affect really well. 

The one on the left here is a close up of my Deliverytime poster of a rose.  The one on the right I have included a bird within my design to give the emphasis of a garden and being natural.

This is a butterfly I also included within the design.
